South Gloucestershire Council has announced that a new Resource Base will be built at Tyndale Primary School

Dear Parents, Carers and Members of the Wider Community,

We are delighted to share some exciting news about the future of Tyndale Primary School.

South Gloucestershire Council has announced that a new Resource Base will be built at Tyndale Primary School. This will provide specialist provision initially for up to 10 children with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) and/or speech, language and communication needs (SLCN). The aim of the resource base is to ensure that more children can have their needs met locally, remain part of their community, and benefit from specialist support while continuing to access mainstream school life where appropriate.

This is a significant and positive investment in our school and our wider community. It reflects the inclusive values we hold at Tyndale and our belief that every child deserves the very best chance of success. The resource base will provide tailored support from specialist staff, while also strengthening practice across the whole school through shared expertise, training and collaboration.

The resource base will form part of a new extension to our Key Stage 2 building, placing it right at the centre of our school. This is a deliberate and exciting step that aligns fully with our vision “to provide all children with an exceptional education in a warm, welcoming environment that inspires them to lead change and enables them to become curious lifelong learners.”

I want to reassure you that this development will not take anything away from the exceptional education and care that children at Tyndale already receive. The resource base will be an additional provision that enhances our school, increases specialist expertise and strengthens support for all pupils.

The children attending the resource base will be placed through the local authority’s specialist placement process. This means that places will not be allocated in the same way as mainstream school places. The provision will be carefully planned to ensure that children receive the right support, in the right environment, while continuing to be part of the wider Tyndale family.

We know that families and members of the community may have questions about what this means for the school. At this stage, the project is in its early planning phase, and we will continue to share further information as plans develop. What we can say now is that this is a wonderful opportunity for Tyndale to continue growing as an inclusive, ambitious and caring school at the heart of our community.

We are incredibly proud that Tyndale has been chosen for this investment. It recognises the strength of our school, our commitment to inclusion, and the positive direction we are moving in together.
